Ragged Rhododendrons
Rhododendron (Variant)
I love these old Rhododendrons in stately homes, I know the significance they have caused as an invasive species is drastic, but they are great from a floral interest point of view. The impact Rhododendron ponticum have had on native woodland and the Irish countryside is drastic to say the least, on a recent trip to Co. Donegal, I spotted swathes of enormous Rhododendron patches throughout the countryside, with some mature specimens in fields must have been 10"x10" individual plants. Although I keep a Rhododendron ponticum myself, I never let it go to seed, and also I had this plant before being aware of its impact.
